Lehigh Kicks Off Fall Season At Bloomsburg Dynamic Duo Tournament

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The fall tennis season kicked off for the Lehigh men's tennis team on Friday and Saturday from the Bloomsburg Dynamic Duo Tournament hosted by Bloomsburg University. The Mountain Hawks competed in doubles play and select singles matches in three separate flights against host Bloomsburg, St. Francis, Daemen, West Liberty, Mercyhurst and Shippensburg.
Lehigh had two teams competing in the first flight, those being Ofer Hacohen/Henry Stoller and Benedict Horn-Bourque/Wyeth Anzilotti. Hacohen and Stoller dropped their first-round match to Jonah Ng/Mario Beckles of St. Francis 6-3 while Horn-Bourque and Anzilotti won 6-2 in their first match over their opponents from Mercyhurst. The student-athletes also played singles matches against one another, with Stoller being the lone Mountain Hawk to prevail in the first flight.
Jackson Morash and Nate Raney teamed up together as Lehigh's only entrant in the second flight. They were defeated by Lukas Cabue/Nikola Radisic 6-4 in the first round. Cabue then defeated Morash in singles before Raney earned a 5-3, 5-4 win over Radisic in singles.
Victor Imanishi and Shiv Sastry were Lehigh's pair in the third flight. The pair defeated Mitchell Pollack/Riley Fitzgerald of Daemen 6-0 in the first round and both earned singles wins over them as well.
In the consolation round of the first flight, Hacohen and Stoller defeated Alex Lumanog and Lesse Mergens of Daemen 6-1 while also earning two singles wins over them. Horn-Bourque and Anzilotti defeated their opponents from West Liberty in both singles and doubles to meet Hacohen and Stoller in the consolation final. However, the match was not played.
In flight two, Morash and Raney rolled in the consolation bracket, earning wins over Lucas Garcia/Rohan Chitanand of Daemen and Derick Winses/Misha Pollack of Mercyhurst. The pair both split their singles matches against their opponents from Daemen and Mercyhurst.
In the flight three, Imanishi and Sastry defeated Blake Lorezno/Sebastian Quinones of St. Francis 7-5 but then both fell in their singles matches against them.
The Mountain Hawks will next compete on September 27-28 at the Lehigh Invite at the Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts on Lehigh's Goodman Campus.
