BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Howard Talmud '77 head men's tennis coach Craig Schwartz has announced the addition of five newcomers to the incoming class of 2029. Aleksandar Daskalovic, Alex Miguel Van Lumich Lozano, Kosei Ogata, Shiv Sastry and Henry Stoller will join the Mountain Hawks this upcoming fall season.

"We couldn't be more excited about this incoming class," said Schwartz. "Each one of these student-athletes brings something special to the table, and together they represent a bright future for our program. Their talent, energy, and drive will help us continue building something truly special here. I can't wait to see the impact they'll make in the classroom, on the court and in our community. The future is bright, and it's only getting better from here."

Prior to Lehigh, Daskalovic played for Poslovno Tehnicka Skola in his hometown of Belgrade, Serbia. Daskalovic's ITF Junior career-high ranking is 264th and he won J100 titles in singles and doubles. In addition, Daskalovic was a member of Serbia's U14 junior national team.

"I was presented the opportunity to keep developing my tennis at a high level while pursuing a prestigious degree and further improving my education," said Daskalovic. "I have heard only the best about Lehigh. I believe Lehigh is the perfect school and environment for me to prosper."

Van Lumich Lozano joins Lehigh after spending his first two seasons at Purdue University Northwest, where he was a two-time GLIAC Player of the Week, a first team All-GLIAC singles and doubles selection and was ranked #38 in singles and #26 in doubles at the Division II level. He maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his first two years at Purdue Northwest, being named to the Dean's List four times and earning CSC Academic Third Team DII All-American honors. Another international product, Van Lumich Lozano hails from Zaragoza, Spain and will study mathematics at Lehigh.

"I chose Lehigh because it offers me the opportunity to compete in Division I tennis while maintaining a strong focus on academics," said Van Lumich Lozano. "Additionally, Lehigh is a well-respected institution among many companies in the finance industry, which aligns with the professional path I plan to pursue. I am also inspired by the university's faculty and athletic staff, and I am eager to learn and work with them."

A native of Saratoga, California, Ogata joins the Mountain Hawks from the Eagle Fustar Tennis Academy and Pearson Online Academy. Ogata was a four-star recruit in the class of 2025, reaching a national ranking as high as number 26. Ogata won a silver ball as runner-up at the USTA National Level 1 Indoor Championships in U18 doubles. Outside of tennis, Ogata founded Fight with Filer, raising over $5,000 through a non-profit clothing company for cancer treatments for a fellow junior tennis player and close friend.

"During my official visit, I fell in love with Lehigh's campus and felt immediately at home with Coach Schwartz and the team," said Ogata. "Combined with Lehigh's excellent academics and the opportunity to compete at the Division I level, it was exactly what I was looking for."

Sastry comes to Bethlehem by way of Barrington High School in Barrington, Illinois. Sastry was an Illinois High School Association All-Conference, All-Sectional and All-State selection in 2022 and placed fourth in the Illinois High School State Doubles Tournament the same year. Academically, Sastry was named an AP Scholar with honors in 2022 and 2023 and graduated high school in only three years.

"I chose to attend Lehigh because of its strong engineering program and the opportunity to be part of a top collegiate tennis team," said Sastry.

Stoller heads up north from Coral Gables, Florida and the Tocqueville Academy. In singles, Stoller was a Bobby Curtis Florida state consolation champion and reached the third round at the UTSA nationals on clay courts. In doubles, Stoller was the 2023 Florida 4A overall state doubles champion and was a UTSA Level 2 national champion. Following his junior year, Stoller was ranked within the top 60 in the country in doubles and is a three-time ITF Junior doubles finalist. Stoller had a high-ranking of 123rd nationally in 25th in the state of Florida.

"I chose Lehigh because it offers the best of both worlds: strong academics and athletic excellence," said Stoller. "The rich culture and student life at Lehigh will help me grow and gain new and enriching experiences."

Daskalovic, Van Lumich Lozano, Ogata, Sastry and Stoller are set to join the Lehigh men's tennis program ahead of the fall 2025 semester.
