Lehigh Earns Overtime Victory On Senior Day

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Senior Angelina Pino netted the Senior Day game-winner in overtime as Lehigh defeated Boston University 15-14 on Saturday.

Molly Snow was a force for the Mountain Hawks, scoring five goals, dishing out two assists, securing five draw controls, recording one groundball and one caused turnover. Pino finished the day with five points off four goals and one assist.

Snow fed Pino for the game-winning goal with nine seconds remaining in overtime as Lehigh scored the final four goals after falling behind 14-11 with 4:15 remaining.

Kicking off the game, Boston U. went on a two-goal run, taking a 2-0 lead with 11:31 on the clock in the first quarter. Senior Quinn Meyer broke up the run at 10:17, scoring a free position goal.

Boston U. struck again before Pino recorded her first goal of the afternoon as Lehigh trailed 3-2 heading into the second quarter. 

The Terriers started the second quarter with another two-goal run, increasing their lead to 5-2. At 10:18, Pino tallied her second goal on a free position shot. Snow followed up with a goal as Lehigh climbed back within 5-4. Boston U.'s Elle Stephenson netted back-to-back goals for the Terriers, pushing their lead to 7-4 with 6:05 on the clock.

At 1:16, Snow thwarted Boston U.'s momentum, tallying her second goal of the afternoon. With nine seconds left in the half, Gracie Shoup scored a free position goal as Lehigh trailed by a slim 7-6 margin at the half.

Opening the second half, Boston U. converted on a free position goal. Lehigh's Kacie Wines put her name in the scorebook, following up with a free position goal of her own as the Mountain Hawks trailed 8-7. 

Boston U. quickly scored two goals, leading by a 10-7 advantage. Shortly after at 5:06, Pino secured a hat-trick as the Terriers led 10-8. Closing out the third quarter, the Terriers scored another before kicking off the fourth period with an additional goal as they led by a four goal margin 12-8.

Snow came alive in the fourth quarter, scoring a pair of goals as Lehigh trailed 12-10 with 12:38 on the clock. Lehigh continued its run as Gracie Shoup put them within one, down 12-11. Boston U. broke up the run, scoring two to take a 14-11 lead with just over four minutes remaining. Snow struck again, scoring her fifth goal before Shannon Nolan recorded two in a row to tie the game up at 14-14.

In overtime, Snow fed the ball from behind the net to Pino who connected for the game-winner as Lehigh secured the 15-14 Patriot League victory.

Boston U. won the draw control battle 20-13, with Snow and Grace Martel both recording five for the Mountain Hawks.

Lehigh (4-7, 1-4 PL) returns to action on Saturday April 12 at Holy Cross.
