Kochanowicz Earns Second Patriot League Rookie Of The Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – First-year Cole Kochanowicz was named the Patriot League Baseball Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon. Kochanowicz has now won the award twice on the season.
Kochanowicz posted a 1.93 ERA, .129 batting average against and 2-0 record across 9.1 innings and two appearances this past week. The Wyndmoor, Pa. native earned the win against Army on April 14, tossing 3.1 innings of relief with three hits, two strikeouts and one earned run. Against Bucknell on April 20, Kochanowicz threw 6.0 innings of relief with three strikeouts, one hit and one earned run to earn his fifth win of the season.
Kochanowicz leads Lehigh with a 2.81 ERA in 25.2 innings across nine appearances and one start on the year. He has struck out 25 batters, has a .170 batting average against and boasts a record of 5-1 this season.
The Mountain Hawks return to action on Wednesday, April 23 at 3 p.m. to host Saint Peter's for Pride Day, presented by Lehigh's Pride Center and Office of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging.
