Snow Scores Three In 14-8 Loss To Georgetown

WASHINGTON - Despite a strong start, the Lehigh Mountain Hawks fell to the Georgetown Hoyas 14-8 on Saturday afternoon.

Lehigh was led by Molly Snow with three goals, two assists and two draw controls.

Georgetown got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead with 12:31 remaining in the first quarter. At 11:09, Kacie Wines fed a ball to Snow who scored her first of the afternoon to level the score at 1-1.

At 9:03, this time Snow dished a ball to Wines who gave Lehigh a 2-1 lead. The Hoyas responded with two goals, grabbing a 3-2 advantage.

With 1:06 on the clock, Angelina Pino evened the score at 3-3. Georgetown responded with a quick goal before Snow capitalized on a free position opportunity with four seconds left as the first quarter concluded tied 4-4.

Kicking off the second quarter, Georgetown earned two cards so Lehigh was up two players as Wines earned a free position attempt. At 9:05, Wines put away her second goal of the game as Lehigh led 5-4. Lehigh continued momentum, with Gracie Shoup extending Lehigh's lead to 6-4 with 6:02 left in the first half.

Georgetown closed out the first half with back-to-back goals as the score was knotted 6-6 at intermission.

The Hoyas started on the front foot to open the second half, taking a 7-6 lead with 10:09 on the clock. At 7:07, Snow scored her third goal of the game to even the score at 7-7.

Georgetown closed out the third quarter on a 2-0 run before completing a 4-0 run early in the fourth quarter, leading 11-7 with 11:19 remaining in the game.

At 10:16, Chloe DelNegro scored her first career goal in a Mountain Hawks uniform, decreasing Georgetown's lead to 11-8. The Hoyas closed out the game on a 3-0 run, featuring two goals from leading goal-scorer Gracie Driggs, as Georgetown secured the 14-8 victory.

Georgetown won the draw battle 17-8, as Brynn Freeman led the way with three draw controls for Lehigh. Defensively, Grace Martel led with two caused turnovers while Kenna Winters and DelNegro both added one.

Senior goalkeeper Julia DeLittla finished the afternoon with 10 saves, while Georgetown's Leah Wareheim made 13.
