No. 5 Lehigh To Meet No. 4 Army West Point In Patriot League Quarterfinal

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The quest for the Patriot League championship begins on Friday for No. 5 Lehigh men's tennis when they take on No. 4 Army West Point in the quarterfinal round of the Patriot League tournament. The two teams are slated to face off at 10:15 a.m. in West Point, N.Y.
Should Lehigh (11-11, 4-4 PL) win on Friday, they would advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2022. The Mountain Hawks have advanced to the semifinal round in three of the past four seasons.
Lehigh concluded their regular season this past weekend on the road against Bucknell, falling 5-2 to the Bison. Matt Kleiman and Marc Blekhman lead the Mountain Hawks on the season in doubles play, posting a 14-6 overall record with a 13-5 record at No. 1 and 5-2 mark against league competition. Sean Jaeger has enjoyed the best overall singles record for Lehigh at 17-4, including a 6-1 record in league play.
Kleiman and Blekhman will play the No. 1 doubles spot in the tournament while Jaeger and senior Jordan Paul will play the No. 2 spot. The third doubles pairing will consist of Jackson Morash and Luke Donovan. Kleiman will fill the No. 1 singles spot while Blekhman, Jaeger, Morash, Benedict Horn-Bourque and Wyeth Anzilotti will follow him in order.
Army West Point (12-14, 4-2 PL) played two less Patriot League games than Lehigh in the regular season, using their winning percentage to their advantage to claim the fourth seed. The Black Knights concluded their regular season on the road in a 4-1 loss to Navy.
Jake Huarte and Vishnu Bodavula will be Army West Point's No. 1 doubles pairing while the teams of Marcus Sebastian/Alan Ton and Samuel Haikal/Michael Rooney will make up the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Huarte will also be Army West Point's No. 1 singles player with Daniel Zhou, Haikal, Bodavula, Sebastian and Ton following him in order.
The Patriot League tournament is set to begin on Thursday, April 25 at 1 p.m. when the No. 8 Holy Cross and No. 9 Lafayette face off in the first round.
No. 1 seeded Boston University will face the winner of the No. 8/No. 9 matchup at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. No. 3 Bucknell and No. 6 Colgate will face off at 12:45 p.m. followed by No. 2 Navy vs. No. 7 Loyola to conclude the quarterfinal round.
The semifinals will be played on Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The championship match will take place at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 28.
