Lehigh Defeated 5-2 By Bucknell In Regular Season Finale

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh men's tennis traveled west for their regular season finale against Patriot League side Bucknell. The Mountain Hawks won the opening doubles point but ultimately fell 5-2 on the road to the Bison.
Lehigh (11-11, 4-4 PL) earned the opening doubles point after three competitive bouts against Bucknell (14-6, 3-2 PL). Wyeth Anzilotti and Luke Donovan were first to finish with a 6-2 win at the number three spot. The Bison picked up the next doubles win via a 6-4 victory at number two, setting up the number one doubles match as the deciding one. Matt Kleiman and Marc Blekhman earned their 13th doubles win of the season with a 6-4 win at number one to clinch the doubles point.
Singles play also began favorably for Lehigh, as a two-set decision for Anzilotti at number six put the Mountain Hawks ahead 2-0. However, three-straight singles victories at numbers one, four and five for Bucknell gave them a 3-2 advantage. Despite battling to third sets at both number two and three, the Bison held off Blekhman and Jaeger to clinch a 5-2 victory.
With the regular season now in the rearview mirror, Lehigh now sets its sights on the Patriot League Tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 25. Lehigh's opponent and start time are still TBD.
