
Lehigh Faces Loyola on Friday Morning in Patriot League Quarterfinal

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's tennis team is headed to Annapolis, Md., for the Patriot League Tournament, where the fifth-seeded Mountain Hawks will open up action with a quarterfinal match against No. 4 Loyola at 10:15 a.m. on Friday.Â
If the Mountain Hawks win on Friday, it would mark their first time in the semifinals since 2018. Lehigh finished the regular season with a 13-7 record and a 4-4 Patriot League record. If Lehigh beats Loyola, it would mark the most wins in program history since 1988, when the Mountain Hawks went 14-10.Â
Anushka Dania and Megha Dania have posted a team-best doubles record of 14-5 out of the No. 2 spot. Playing at the No. 2 doubles line will be Audrey Harrington and Hamsa Javagal, who are one win shy of the Danias as the two are 13-5. At the No. 1 doubles spot, Allyce Gaborik and Maggie Forkner are 9-10 this season.Â
Anushka Dania, Megha Dania and Maggie Forkner have each recorded a team-best of five singles wins in league play. Megha has the most singles wins with 13 in Lehigh's 20 matches this season.Â
Javagal and Forkner are expected to play at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spot, followed by Gaborik at the No. 3 spot and Megha Dania at the No. 4 spot. Anushka Dania will play the No. 5 singles spot, and Hannah Lezter will play at the No. 6 spot.Â
The Mountain Hawks suffered a 4-3 loss to the Greyhounds on March 29. Lehigh lost the doubles point and battled back to win the first three singles points, but the Greyhounds won the final three points of the match to secure the win.
The Patriot League Tournament kicks off Thursday with the opening round match between No. 8 Lafayette and No. 9 Holy Cross at 1 p.m.
Friday's action begins at 8:30 a.m., with Boston University facing the winner of Thursday's match. Following Lehigh's match, No. 3 Army and No. 6 Colgate will play at 12:45 p.m., and No. 2 Navy and No. 7 Bucknell will conclude Friday's action with a 3:15 p.m. match.Â
The semifinals are set for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, with the championship match slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
