
Lehigh Has Double Meet Weekend Featuring The Virginia Challenge And Coach Pollard Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh track and field team splits this weekends' competition between the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va. and the Coach Pollard Invitational hosted by Moravian University in Bethlehem, Pa. Both meets span across Friday and Saturday.

Last weekend, the Mountain Hawks competed in a three-day affair at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Â Two student-athletes set new school records as senior Ashley Struck secured the 400m record (54.1) and junior Casey Talamini-Kelemen claimed the triple jump record (12.18m). On the men's side, first-year Andrew Clark placed eighth in the decathlon with 5610 points.

The Virginia Challenge kicks off in the field on Friday at 1:45 p.m. with the women's discus, wrapping up with the women's javelin at 8 p.m. Action on the track begins at 3:50 p.m. with the women's 100m prelims, concluding with the women's 5000m at 10:15 p.m.

Field events begin Saturday's competition with the women's hammer throw at 11 a.m., rounding out with the women's high jump at 3:30 p.m. On the track, the women's 100m hurdles is the first race at 2:30 p.m., as the 4x400m relay caps off the weekend at 4:30 p.m.

The Coach Pollard Invitational starts on Friday at 2 p.m. with the women's hammer throw followed by the men's. The hammer concludes field events as the lone event on the track, the 10,000m, kicks off at 6:15 p.m. with the men's followed by the women's.

On Saturday, both track and field events begin at 11 a.m. with the final race on the track slated for 6:05 p.m.
