Lehigh Has Quick Turnaround To Contest At Army

3/29/2024 10:55:00 AM | Women's Lacrosse

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Coming off a 15-8 victory over Bucknell on Wednesday, the Lehigh women's lacrosse team looks to carry momentum into Saturday's noon matchup at Army.

In the surge over the Bison, Lehigh was led by a six-goal effort by senior Olivia Memeger while graduate student Emma Eberhardt contributed five goals. Defensively, first-year Brynn Freeman had a solid performance, holding Bucknell's top scorer in Allie Boyce to one goal and one assist. Freeman posted a team-high in both ground balls and caused turnovers with six and five, respectively.

Army is 4-6 overall and 2-1 in league play, dropping a tight 14-13 contest to then No. 5 Loyola. Following the loss, Army bounced back with wins over Lafayette (17-4) and Boston University (17-7). The Black Knights were selected to finish second in the league standings this season, led by Patriot League Midfielder of the Year Brigid Duffy.

Duffy leads Army offensively with 37 goals and 16 assists, while Allison Reilly tallied 31 goals and 21 assists.

Lehigh leads the all-time series 5-4, most recently falling by a slim 15-14 margin last season. Memeger tallied three goals and one assist and graduate student Cassie Marte added a hat trick.

Saturday's game will be streamed on ESPN+
