Mountain Hawks Shut Out in Loss to UMass

AMHERST, Mass. - Lehigh women's tennis saw its three match win-streak end Sunday morning in the first of three straight matches as the Mountain Hawks fell 4-0 to UMass. This marks the first time this season that Lehigh has been shut out.
The Mountain Hawks fell to 8-3 on the season and the Minutemen improved to 6-4. UMass started out strong, clinching the doubles point. The Mountain Hawks had not dropped a doubles point since the Drexel match on Jan. 27.
The duo of Audrey Harrington and Hamsa Javgal suffered their first doubles loss (6-3) after winning their first eight matches of the season.
Allyce Gaborik and Maggie Forkner were shut out, falling 6-0 to Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertakul. Anushka Dania and Megha Dania were losing 5-3 at the time that UMass clinched the doubles point.
Megha Dania dropped the first singles spot for Lehigh after winning just one point. She lost the first set 6-0 and the next set 6-1.
Hamsa Javagal suffered a 6-3 loss in both sets to Danielle Hack. Mariana Campino secured the victory for UMass with 7-5 wins in both sets over Allyce Gaborik.
Maggie Forkner was the lone Mountain Hawk to win a set, as she took the first one 6-4 at the No .2 singles spot. She dropped the next set 6-4 and was losing 1-0 in the third set before the Minutewomen clinched the victory.
Anushka Dania didn't win a set,but she was winning her first set 4-1 before the match was halted.
The Mountain Hawks return to action tomorrow at Stonehill at 11 a.m.
