DeVilbiss and Williams Break School Records

ANNAPOLIS- Md. - Junior Jack DeVilbiss and sophomore Aaron Williams both recorded school records on the third day of the Patriot League Championships Friday at LeJeune Hall.

Although Williams currently holds the school record in the 100-yard butterfly, Elvin Lee was the first one to break the record on Friday as he finished with a time of 48.54 in prelims. The record lasted just minutes as Williams recorded a time of 48.42 in the next heat. 

Lee's time earned him a spot in the C-Final, and he recorded a time of 48.35, which would have been the school record, but Williams set a new school record time of 48.25 in the B-Final. Lee came in 17th to earn seven points for Lehigh, and Williams scored 15 points with a 12th-place finish. 

DeVilbiss set a school record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 55.40. Devilbiss' time earned him a spot in the C-Final, where he finished in 18th (55.74). DeVilbiss and Williams have both set two school records at Patriots as they were both on the 200-yard medley relay team that set a school record with a time of 1:28.17 on the first day of Patriots. 

Tim Norris, Connor Goodyear both qualified for the B-Final in the 200-yard freestyle and finished 12th (1:39.27) and 13th (1:39.40), respectively. Patti was in the C-Final in the 200-yard freestyle as he finished in 23rd (1:42.02). 

Lehigh also had three finalists in the 100-yard backstroke.  Ben Kisker was in the B-Final, finishing 11th with a time of 49.05. Lee and Matt Mclellan were both in the C-Final. Lee scored five points with a 20th place finish (50.19), and Mclellan came in 24th (50.32). 

The day ended with the 200-freestyle relay team of Norris, DeVilbiss, WIlliams and Lee coming in fifth with a time of 1:21.15. 

Lehigh jumped up a spot after today's performance and now sits in sixth place with 329 points.Navy sits in first with 1,058 points.

Saturday's action will start at 10 a.m. with preliminaries, while finals begin at 6 p.m. Live coverage of the 2024 Patriot League Championships will be broadcast on ESPN+.
