
Lehigh Wraps up Non-League Road Slate at Cornell

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh women's basketball closes out its road non-league slate with a trip to Ithaca, N.Y. to take on Cornell on Sunday at 1 p.m. Sunday's game will air on ESPN+. The Mountain Hawks are 6-3 after falling to Drexel 53-44 on Dec. 4.
Lehigh struggled offensively for the first three quarters, scoring a combined 21 points. While the Mountain Hawks rallied in the fourth quarter for a 23-point fourth quarter, it would be too little too late for Lehigh. Lehigh, who is averaging 7.6 three-pointers on the season, connected on just two made three-pointers against Drexel.
Junior forward Lily Fandre paced the way with 11 points against Drexel and fifth-year Maddie Albrecht and sophomore forward Whitney Lind finished with 10 points apiece.
Albrecht is leading the way so far for the Mountain Hawks, averaging a team-high 14.4 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per game. Albrecht has scored in double figures in eight of Lehigh's nine games. Senior guard Ella Stemmer was held scoreless against the Dragons for the first time this season. She is second on the team in scoring, putting up 12.0 points per game. Fandre is next with 11.4 points per game.
The Big Red are 3-7 this season. Marist and Northwestern have been the two common opponents between Lehigh and Cornell this season. Lehigh beat both Marist and Northwestern and Cornell lost to the Red Foxes and the Wildcats.
The Big Red are on a two-game losing streak, most recently suffering a 56-54 loss to St. Bonaventure on Dec. 5. Rachel Kaus scored a team-high 17 points.
Cornell's Emily Pape is averaging a team-high 13.8 points per game and Summer Parker-Hall is next with 11.4 points per game.
