Moravian University Indoor Meet Opens Weekend Competition

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh track and field team split meets this weekend as some athletes competed in the Moravian University Indoor Meet at Rauch Fieldhouse. For evening competition, a group of athletes made the trek to Ocean Breeze in Staten Island, N.Y. for the Villanova Invitational. The results below are all from the meet hosted by Moravian on Lehigh's home indoor track.

THROWS:
Junior Ethan McHugh earned sixth place with a 14.65m PR in the weight throw. In the women's shot put, sophomore Jennifer Whipple threw 10.83m which was good for fifth place.Â

SPRINTS/HURDLES:
In the men's 60m hurdles, rookie Perry Addey claimed sixth place with 8.96. Fellow first-year, Iciar Gorospe, tied her PR in the 400m after clocking in at 1:06.56.

MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE:
Sophomore Sydney Kusner ran a 2:32.13 in the 800m. In the women's mile, sophomore Sophie Renaud earned a PR of 6:01.83. A third sophomore producing a strong finish in mid-distance/distance was Thomas Arnold's fourth place 8:57.46 finish in the 3000m. Senior Abigail Tenreiro won the 5000k, crossing the finish line in 18:24.01, while sophomore Elisa Brear claimed fourth with a PR of 18:56.76. Placing fourth in the men's 5000m, first-year Noah Zahn finished in 15:17.25.

JUMPS:
First-year Andrew Clark jumped a PR of 1.65m in the high jump, landing in 10th place. Two Mountain Hawks placed in the men's pole vault, led by first-year Eli Johnson in third (4.10m) and junior Jack Murphy in fifth (3.95m.)
