
Mountain Hawks Chasing 10th Straight Sweep Over Lafayette

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh looks to earn its tenth straight sweep over Lafayette in the team's first dual meet of the 2023-24 indoor season. The women's squad is chasing their 15th consecutive win and the men look for their 10th. The Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute begins at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Rauch Fieldhouse.Â

In last weekend's Villanova Invitational and Moravian Invite, four Mountain Hawks landed on the top-10 list with the women's 4x400 nabbing the school record. Abby Klebe, Svea Wickelgren, Grace Kennedy and Ashley Struck ran a 3:52.77 relay to add themselves into the top spot in Lehigh's record book.

Kennedy moved to eighth all-time in the 200M with 25.66 and improved her sixth place all-time mark in the 400M to 57.97. In the 1000M, Wickelgren secured tenth all-time with 2:55.07. First-years Thomas Smigo and Eddie Moore moved to fifth and eighth all-time in the 1000M (2:26.09) and 200M (22.31), respectively.

Last semester in Fast Times Before Finals, sophomore Laura Reigle broke her own school record in the pole vault (4.10M) and junior Abby Klebe claimed the 1000M record (2:51.00).

The women's team defeated Lafayette 108.5-72.5 last season, highlighted by Reigle breaking her own school record (4.00M) in her first rivalry meet. On the men's side, winning 14 out of 17 events led to a 118-60 victory.
Saturday's meet against Lafayette will begin with field events at 2 p.m., followed by action kicking off on the track at 3:30 with the women's mile. Results will be available on mitchelltiming.com
