Lehigh Finishes Seventh at Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Patriot League Championships concluded Saturday afternoon after a two-day competition, with the Mountain Hawks finishing seventh overall with 44 points. Navy won the Patriot League team title with 298 points.
"The men's & women's team finished the season on a high note. The coaches are beyond pleased with the progress we have made as competitors. We are doing the necessary work of learning how to compete at the highest levels under extreme pressure. We experienced some amazing performances this weekend. More personal records, school records, facility records, medalist & champions," said head coach Khayla Atte.
Today, Lehigh earned points in the shot put, high jump, men's triple jump, men's 4x100-meter relay and men's 800 meters at the Patriot League Championships.
In the men's triple jump, first-year Konstantinos Panagopoulos and senior Daniel Givens finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Panagopoulos posted a jump of 14.49 meters to earn three points for the Mountain Hawks, while Givens recorded a mark of 14.32 meters. Boston University's Guy Margalit won the event with a jump of 15.03 meters.
Senior Joeseph Nowakowski finished sixth in the shot put with a throw of 16.6 meters, earning three points for Lehigh. Bucknell's Wade Shomper won the event with a mark of 18.4 meters.
Junior Andrew Clark finished sixth in the decathlon for the Mountain Hawks, earning three team points for Lehigh. Clark placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, discus throw and pole vault en route to his sixth-place overall finish.
