
Lehigh Welcomes Bucknell Saturday in Key Patriot League Match

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Coming off a big rivalry win at Lafayette on Sunday, the Lehigh women's tennis team will be back on the courts Saturday to host Bucknell in Patriot League action. First serves are set from noon from the Ulrich Varsity Courts.

Lehigh (5-7, 2-2 PL) picked up a 5-2 win at Lafayette Sunday for its 20th consecutive win over the Leopards. Juniors Megha and Anushka Dania both won in singles and doubles, as did sophomore Hamsa Javagal, who earned Patriot League honorable mention recognition. Javagal teamed with first-year Bella Peters for a doubles point-clinching win at No. 3 and added a win at the top singles flight. Sophomore Allyce Gaborik also earned a point for Lehigh with a win at no. 3 singles.

Megha Dania leads Lehigh with an 8-3 singles record, while Gaborik and Javagal both own six singles victories. Javagal and Peters are 7-4 at No. 3 doubles and the Dania sisters are 6-5 at No. 1 doubles.

Bucknell is 9-11 overall and 2-1 in the league. The Bison have lost four straight matches including a 6-1 loss to Navy last weekend. Bucknell has won the last two meetings in the series after Lehigh had won the previous five.

Following Saturday's match Lehigh will be back on the road next weekend. The Mountain Hawks will play at Morgan State on April 15 and then will face Boston University in Annapolis the following day.
