
Lehigh to Wrap-Up 10 Match Homestand This Weekend Against Siena, LIU

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team's season-opening 10 match homestand will conclude this weekend when the Mountain Hawks welcome Siena and LIU to the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks will battle the Saints Saturday at 1 p.m. before facing off against the Sharks Sunday at noon.
Lehigh (4-4) split a pair of home matches last weekend, falling to Hofstra 4-3 on Friday before defeating Morgan State 5-2 on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks lost the doubles point to the Bears but came back to win the final flight singles flights, clinching the victory with a 6-0, 6-0 win from first-year Wyeth Anzilotti at the No. 6 flight.
Sophomore Marc Blekhman and junior Jordan Paul both went 2-0 last weekend at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles flights, respectively, while Paul teamed with Sean Jaeger to go 2-0 at No. 2 doubles. Blekhman and Paul recently swapped positions in the Lehigh lineup with Blekhman leading the team with six overall singles and Paul right behind with a 5-2 singles mark. Paul also leads Lehigh with five doubles wins, going 3-2 with senior Jeremy Learner in addition to his two wins with Jaeger.
Siena is 4-3 on the season after blanking Lafayette 7-0 last weekend. The Saints will visit Bucknell Friday before their trip to Lehigh on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks fell 5-2 to Siena last year in Bethlehem.
LIU is still searching for its first win of the season after seven consecutive losses. The Sharks will play Queens College on Friday before coming to Lehigh on Sunday. LIU was edged by Davidson 4-3 in its last action on Feb. 18.
Following this weekend's action Lehigh will be off until spring break, when the Mountain Hawks will face IUPUI (Mar. 12) and James Madison (Mar. 14) in Orlando, Fla.
