
Mountain Hawks Edged 4-3 by Visiting Siena

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In a match that came down to a third set at the No. 5 singles flight, the Lehigh men's tennis team came up just short in a 4-3 loss to Siena Saturday inside the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks dropped the doubles point but battled back to win three singles matches, battling back from a 3-1 deficit.
Ultimately, Siena's Edward Vo prevailed in three sets over first-year Jackson Morash in a third set to give the Saints the victory, dropping the Mountain Hawks to 4-5 on the season.
Senior Jeremy Learner and junior Jordan Paul teamed for a 6-1 win at the top doubles flight, but Siena captured the bottom two flights to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Learner then opened singles play with a three-set win over Tomas Del Olmo at the No. 2 flight, winning the first set 6-4 and blanking Del Olmo 6-0 in the deciding set.
Siena picked up straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 3 before sophomore Marc Blekhman started the Lehigh comeback, outlasting Jose Pablo Davila in three sets at No. 4, winning the deciding set 6-2.
Senior Michael Bukhalo delivered the only straight set win for Lehigh in singles, dispatching Matt Nardone 6-4, 6-4 at No. 6.
In the deciding match at No. 5, Morash dropped the first set 3-6 but won the second set 6-1 to even the match at 1-1. Vo prevailed 6-3 in the deciding set to give Siena the victory.
The Mountain Hawks will be back on the courts on Sunday to wrap-up their homestand against LIU at noon.
