Mountain Hawks Earn Academic Awards from the ITA

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's tennis team was named All-Academic Team by the International Tennis Association while five Mountain Hawks earned ITA Scholar Athletes honors for the 2021-22 season. The Mountain Hawks finished the year with a team-GPA of 3.43, which was ranked first amongst men's teams of Lehigh athletics. Michael Bukhalo, Zack Elliott, Gary Fishkin, Jeremy Learner and Steven Nazaroff were all named ITA Scholar-Athletes for Lehigh.
Overall, 163 men's teams earned ITA team awards and 933 student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team GPA of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a GPA of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and must be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
Elliott, a recent graduate and Bukhalo, a junior majoring in business information systems, were both named Academic All-Patriot League this year.
Lehigh concluded the 2022 season with a record of 13-7 overall and a program record 7-1 in league play. The Mountain Hawks beat Loyola Maryland 4-0 in the Patriot League quarterfinals before falling to Army 4-1 in the Patriot League semifinals.
