Mountain Hawks Begin League Play at Loyola

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's tennis team will head to Baltimore to kick off Patriot League play on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks will battle Loyola Maryland at 1 p.m. at the McClure Tennis Center.
Lehigh is returning from Hilton Head, S.C. where the team played in two matches over spring break.
The Mountain Hawks battled against George Mason but were unable to hold on in the end. Sophomores Anushka and Megha Dania secured a win in doubles play, putting them at 6-2 in doubles this season.
The Dania duo, along with junior Junmoke James, all picked up wins in singles play against George Mason. Anushka and Megha each picked up their fourth wins of the season in singles while James secured her second.
Lehigh's second match against South Carolina State was cut short due to weather. The Mountain Hawks started off hot, winning two doubles matches. James and first-year Hamsa Javagal were the only two Mountain Hawks to finish their respective singles matches.
James defeated Teodora Vujicic from South Carolina State 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 to secure her third singles win of the season. Javagal fell to South Carolina State's Rachida Berjane 6-3, 6-7 (2), 6-2.
Loyola is currently 4-1 on the season with its only loss coming against Howard on Feb. 26. Lehigh will meet Loyola for the ninth time in program history. The Mountain Hawks are currently 7-1 against the Greyhounds.
