BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Riding a three-game win streak, the Lehigh women's basketball team heads to West Point on Wednesday evening to face-off against Army at Christl Arena, with tip-off set for 6 p.m. The matchup is the second of the season between the two teams after the Mountain Hawks out-lasted the Black Knights in a defensive battle back on Jan. 5, just the second Patriot League contest of the year.
Â
Lehigh has been in the business of reeling off big win after big win and the last three games have been no different. The Mountain Hawks took care of things against previously-unbeaten Boston University on Saturday afternoon, just three days removed from dropping a Stabler Arena record 99 points over Navy on Wednesday.
Â
Three Mountain Hawks scored double-figure totals against the Terriers Saturday, led by Megan Walker's 20 points on four 3-pointers. Emma Grothaus recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Mackenzie Kramer added 11 points. Walker's 20 follows up her season-high 22-point performance vs. Navy and earned an honorable mention nod from the Patriot League for her pair of performances.
Â
A stat of note for Walker, who has stepped up tremendously as of late since the injury of Frannie Hottinger, has been her work on the defensive side of the ball. She has tallied at least one steal in all 18 of Lehigh's games on the season.
Â
Lehigh remains highly ranked in a plethora of offensive categories amongst NCAA Division I programs including third in 3-pointers attempted (538), sixth in 3-pointers made (180), sixth in 3-pointers made per game (10.0), fifth in personal fouls per game (12.3) and 15th in free throw percentage (78.4).
Â
Army West Point has fallen down the standings a bit and currently sits in seventh place after the first seven games of Patriot League play.
Â
The Black Knights are coming off a heartbreaking defeat to archrival Navy on Saturday in Annapolis, falling to the Midshipmen, 61-60. The loss marked their second straight defeat, falling to American on Jan. 19, 80-65.
Â
Army has played four consecutive road contests, going 1-3 in those games and will host Lehigh at Christl Arena Wednesday for the first time since Jan. 8 vs. Colgate.
Â
Against Navy, the Black Knights were led by Sabria Hunter, who tallied her ninth double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Alisa Fallon registered 11 points and nine boards while Hope Brown had 11 points and seven rebounds. Sam McNaughton finished with a team-high six assists, while grabbing seven boards.
Â
In the loss, Army still managed to out-rebound the Midshipmen, 49-35.
Â
Fallon leads the Black Knights in scoring at 13.3 points per game (not counting Trinity Hardy at 13.4, who hasn't played since Dec. 4). Fallon also is averaging 6.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists this season. Hunter has averaged a double-double this season at 11.3 points and 10.5 rebounds. Kate Murray is also averaging double scoring figures at 10.6 points per game.
Â
In Patriot League statistical rankings, Army currently paces the way in free throw attempts (277), free throws made (187), offensive rebounds per game (15.3), rebound margin (5.4) and rebounds per game (41.5), ranking 42nd in the nation for that final category.
Â
In 71 meetings, Lehigh leads the all-time series over Army West Point by one, 36-35. In Patriot League contests, the Mountain Hawks hold the edge, 32-29.
Â
Lehigh has come out on top in each of the last five meetings, facing and beating Army West Point back at the beginning of the month for the first time since the 2019-20 season. The Mountain Hawks got the win in both matchups during that season, a 94-65 win at Christl Arena and an 89-72 victory at Stabler Arena.
Â
The last time out between the two squads, the Mountain Hawks came away with a tight 62-55 victory over Army, out-pacing the Black Knights in the second half. Kramer and Grothaus led the way with 15 points each while Steele tallied four assists off the bench.

Wednesday night's matchup will be streamed live on ESPN+ (subscription required).
