For the second time in her career, Gonzalez named All-League

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior Paula Gonzalez of the Lehigh women's tennis team landed a spot on the All-Patriot League team, announced on Tuesday by the league office. The No. 1 singles player for the Mountain Hawks was awarded Second Team All-League. It is the second time in Gonzalez's career in which she was named All-League (second team in freshman season).
"Paula had an outstanding career and this recognition is well deserved. Paula has always pushed herself and her teammates to get a little bit better each day," said head coach Sarah Hendrix. "Over time, this had a huge impact on her success and on the overall success of our program. Her competitive drive and leadership will leave a lasting legacy on our program."
The senior leader for the Mountain Hawks competed at the No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles in every single match during the 2021 campaign. Gonzalez captured the Patriot League Player of the Week award back in mid-March after a sizzling 4-0 combined start in singles and doubles. The senior from Weston, Fla finished the season with a 3-4 mark in singles against each team's best player, while also going 5-4 in the top spot in doubles.
Throughout her four-year career playing for the Brown and White, Gonzalez compiled a 28-27 record for the Mountain Hawks in singles and a 29-21 mark competing in doubles.
The senior leadership of Gonzalez paced the Mountain Hawks to a No. 4 seed in the 2021 Women's Tennis Patriot League Championship.
