Baseball nets program-record 28 to Academic Honor Roll list

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Despite a shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lehigh baseball team had one of its best semesters academically, as evidenced by a program-record 28 student-athletes named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for the Spring 2020 semester, announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average in the spring semester and participate in one of the Patriot League's winter or spring championship sports.
Of the 28 individuals, four players — senior Mike Maguire, junior Joe Yupp and freshmen Adam Retzbach and Carlos Torres — earned perfect 4.00 GPAs for the semester.
Three more seniors add their names to the exclusive list of four-time Patriot Academic Honor Roll selections as Matt Hand, Jake Kochmansky and Maguire earn the honor in 2020. In total, only 16 players in the history of the Lehigh baseball program have achieved the academic success of being included on the honor roll all four years.
Juniors Eric Cichocki and Cameron Van Hoorebeke enter their senior seasons as three-time members of the list.
