BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Standing 4-2 after six games for the first time since 2017, the Lehigh women's lacrosse team heads south for two games in three days – at Furman Saturday (12 p.m.) and Davidson Monday (6:30 p.m.). The Mountain Hawks are coming off two home wins in four days, beating Monmouth (17-13) then La Salle (18-15). The games Saturday and Monday will mark Lehigh's final tune-ups before Patriot League play.

Saturday's game can be seen through ESPN3/WatchESPN while Monday's contest will air on ESPN + (subscription required).

Offensive firepower has been a theme over the first six games. Scoring 16+ goals in four of six games thus far, the Mountain Hawks stand 21st nationally in goals per contest (14.83). Individually, senior Sondra Dickey is fifth in the country in goals (29) and sixth in points (37). Freshman Gabby Schneider is fifth in assists (19).

Dickey and Schneider helped lead the offense in Tuesday's win over La Salle. Dickey set a career high for points (10) while tying a career-high seven goals. Dickey's seven goals came on just nine shots, eclipsing 200 career points in the process. She became just the seventh student-athlete in program history to reach that milestone. A day after winning Patriot League Rookie of the Week, Schneider scored a career-high six goals and dished an assist; she now has 15 points over her last two games.

Another big story from Tuesday was junior Cecil Redfern, who shattered the school record for draw controls, finishing with 14. The previous record was 10, set by Dickey and Kayleen Kelly. Lehigh used a 13-2 run against La Salle to turn an early 5-1 deficit into a 14-7 lead, on the way to victory. The Mountain Hawks' defense ended up holding the Explorers to just those two goals over 27:54 as part of the run.

Furman is 2-3 on the season, beginning with wins over East Carolina and Fresno State before falling to Liberty, Davidson and Johns Hopkins. The Paladins were picked second out of six in the Southern Conference preseason poll after going 11-8 a season ago (4-1 in conference play). Grace Pollak leads Furman in goals (15) and points (20) while Hannah Demis leads the team in assists (11) and is second in points (17). Morgan Franklin leads the team in both draw controls (21) and caused turnovers (10). Meghan Deehan has played every minute in goal, tallying a 14.20 goals against average and 34.9 save percentage.

Saturday will mark the first-ever meeting between Lehigh and Furman.

Davidson is also 2-3 on the season following a convincing 22-9 win over Old Dominion Wednesday. The Wildcats finished last season 8-9, 2-7 in the Atlantic 10. Davidson was picked seventh out of 10 in the preseason poll, while Natalie Joy was named preseason All-Conference – the program's first student-athlete to receive preseason honors since Davidson joined the A-10 in 2014-15. Five different Wildcats own double-figure points, led by Grace Fahey's 13 points (seven goals, six assists). Anna West leads the team with 10 goals. Gianna New is tops in draw controls (20) while Natalie Junior has a team-leading 11 caused turnovers. Delaney Guhman has started all five games in goal, tallying an 11.49 GAA and 39.1 save percentage, along with a team-leading 15 groundballs.

The Mountain Hawks are 3-2 all-time vs. Davidson, most recently picking up a 7-5 win on the road in 2016. That marked the first meeting between the sides since 2009, an 18-4 Lehigh victory at home.
