
Men wrap up spring break trip with dominant victory over Carnegie Mellon, 7-0

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Lehigh men's tennis team wrapped up its spring break trip with a dominant win over Carnegie Mellon, 7-0. Playing in their fourth match in four days, the Mountain Hawks won all nine matches that took place on Wednesday afternoon. Lehigh will head back to Bethlehem with a 5-5 record, 2-2 on its spring break trip.
Lehigh jumped out of the gate early and sent a message to the Tartans, as the Brown and White claimed all three matches with ease, claiming the point. At the No. 1 spot, Zack Elliott and Harry Wang won, 8-3, while the No. 2 pair of Jacob Edelchik and Gary Fishkin topped their opponents, 8-2.
In singles, Carnegie Mellon came firing back at Lehigh, however the Mountain Hawks were able to weather the storm and respond. At the top spots, Elliott and Wang both won close matches in three sets. The sophomore dropped his first set, while then rallying to take the final two for the win, 2-6, 6-4, 6-1. The senior won the first and third set against Sam Gibson of Carnegie Mellon, 6-3, 5-7, 6-1.
Fishkin, Matt Kleiman, Jeremy Learner and Jack Martin-Dyer all won in straight sets for the Brown and White.
Up next, the Mountain Hawks return to Bethlehem and host Loyola (Md.) at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15. This marks the second season for Lehigh, the conference portion.
