Lehigh football lands 27 on Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The Lehigh football team placed 27 student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league announced Friday. Senior offensive lineman Taylor Curlin, junior defensive lineman Zac Troxell and sophomore wide receiver Austin Dambach all had an especially remarkable fall semester, each earning a grade point average of above a 3.9. All three players are pursuing their degrees in Lehigh's College of Business and Economics.
A student-athlete must earn at least a 3.20 GPA during the fall semester which coincides with his or her sport. Those considered must participate in one of the Patriot League's seven fall championship sports, including men's and women's cross country, field hockey, football, men's and women's soccer and volleyball.
Seven Mountain Hawks selected for Academic Honor Roll also made Lehigh's Dean's List in the fall semester, earning GPAs higher than 3.6, with Curlin (Supply Chain Management), Troxell (Finance) and Dambach (Business) joined by seniors Tyler Monaco (Marketing) and Juwan Morrow (Environmental Policy Design) and juniors Matt Jordan (Finance) and Erik Slater (Journalism). Junior linebacker Pete Haffner was named to the Academic All-Patriot League team for the second consecutive year, just two weeks after he earned a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District team.
A total of 225 football student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll led by Bucknell punter Alex Pechin, who was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year for football for the third straight season.
