Owen Quinn named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Rising Lehigh men's golf senior Owen Quinn has been named a 2018-19 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar team, announced Wednesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Quinn manned the No. 1 position for the Mountain Hawks in 2018-19 and was Lehigh's top performer both on the course and in the classroom, where he earned Academic All-Patriot League honors for the second consecutive year.
To be eligible for the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar team at the Division I level, an individual must be a junior or senior academically, participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Quinn participated in all 26 stroke play rounds for the Mountain Hawks last season and led Lehigh in seven of 10 tournaments. He led the team with a 73.65 stroke average and posted four individual top 10 finishes, highlighted by earning medalist honors at the Lehigh Invitational in October.
Off the course, the Holden, Mass., native holds a 3.75 cumulative GPA as an accounting major. He is a two-time Academic All-Patriot League honoree and a three-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
Quinn is the first Lehigh golfer to earn Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors since Harley Abrams in 2015.
A total of 540 student-athletes were honored as All-America Scholars by the GCAA, the most since the award's inception in 1982. Of the 540 honorees, 266 players were Division I selections. Players from Division II, Division III, NAIA, and for the first time NJCAA were also recognized.
