Lehigh Men Sweep Lafayette to Conclude League Slate

EASTON, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks finished up their Patriot League regular season slate with a 7-0 sweep on the road against rival Lafayette. Lehigh extends its win streak to nine-straight against the Leopards, including a run of four-straight sweeps. The Mountain Hawks improve to 11-8 overall on the season and finish with a record of 5-3 in the Patriot League, making it the third-straight season with five wins and a winning record in league play.
Lehigh did not surrender a single match on the day as they began by sweeping all three doubles matches. Bryant Born and Christopher Auteri clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory at the third flight after George Cooper and Jack Petersen cruised to a 6-1 victory at the second flight as both pairings team up for the first time this season. Jacob Edelchik and Harry Wang posted a 6-2 victory at the first flight to cap off the doubles sweep as they collected second win together this season, including their second in league play.
Born also clinched the overall team victory for Lehigh as he rolled to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Paul Caruso at the fifth singles flight. The win gives the junior his 10th of the season and his fifth in Patriot League play as he has won his last four straight.
Jack Petersen also reached win No. 10 on the season with his 6-1, 6-0 victory over Daniel Kramer at the second flight. The senior has now reached double-digit wins for the third time in his career and has achieved five or more Patriot League wins three times as he caps the season at 6-1 in league play. He also extends his win streak to five in a row.
A week after earning his first Patriot League victory, Dylan Karchere-Sun added another with his 6-4, 6-1 victory over Chris Kim at the sixth flight. The senior improves to 2-1 overall on the season and finishes his career with a 2-0 mark in league play.
Lehigh will close out the regular season on Sunday with a road trip to Saint Joseph's. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
