WORCESTER, Mass. – The Mountain Hawks began their three-match Patriot League road trip with a 7-0 victory over Holy Cross on Friday night. Lehigh improves to 9-7 overall on the season and 3-2 in the against league opponents. The Crusaders continue to slide as their losing streak extends to eight-straight as they are now 2-11 overall and 0-5 in the league.
Lehigh has swept Holy Cross in each of the last four regular season meetings. The Mountain Hawks also did not suffer a defeat in any of the nine matches on the day, marking the second time this season they have achieved that feat.
Harry Wang and George Cooper remained undefeated together on the season as they improve to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in league play with a 6-2 victory at the third doubles flight.
Lehigh's other two pairings, Jack Martin-Dyer and Jacob Edelchik, and Bryant Born and Jack Petersen, both earned their seventh wins on the season to remain tied for the team lead.
Martin-Dyer returned to the singles lineup and improved his league record to 2-0 with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 victory over Tom Cimini at the first flight.
Senior Dylan Karchere-Sun captured his first victory of the season and clinched his first-career Patriot League win with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Matthew Murphy at the sixth flight.
Junior Sam Bencheghib also nabbed his first-career league win and improves to 2-1 on the season with three-set victory over Andrew Vroman at the fifth flight.
The Mountain Hawks continue their weekend road trip on Saturday with dual match against Army in Worcester, Mass.
