Lehigh Men Top Bucknell in Home Finale

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks celebrated Senior Day in style as they closed out their home slate with a 4-3 victory over Bucknell outdoors on the Ulrich Courts on Wednesday afternoon. Lehigh improves to 8-7 overall, 2-2 in the Patriot League while the Bison fall to 5-19 overall and 2-3 in league play. Lehigh has now won three-straight regular season meetings with the Bison.
After losing the doubles point, George Cooper started Lehigh on the comeback trail with a quick 6-2, 6-3 victory over Colin Sacco at the fifth set. Cooper notched his first league win of the season and improves to 4-6 overall on the season.
Senior Jack Petersen put Lehigh in the with his 6-0, 6-4 victory over Andrei Vitiuc in his last match on his home courts. Petersen has won two-straight as he improves to 3-1 in league play and 7-8 overall.
With the match tied, 2-2, Christopher Auteri put Lehigh back in the lead for good with two-set victory over Max McDonald at the fourth set. Auteri got back in the win column as he improves to 3-1 in league play and 12-1 overall on the season.
Jacob Edelchik clinched the win for Lehigh, winning in two-sets at the second flight. Edelchik improves to 2-2 in league play and 6-7 overall.
Lehigh will return to action on Friday in a Patriot League dual against Holy Cross at West Point, N.Y.
