BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Delaware rode the momentum from an early lead to a 15-7 victory over Lehigh on Wednesday at Walker Field in the Liberty Bell Classic Semifinals.

The Mountain Hawks (12-19) found themselves in a hole early as Delaware (15-14) scored five runs in the second inning to open up a 6-0 lead. The Blue Hens then extended the lead to 11-1 as they scored in each of the first five innings.

Lehigh had big inning of its own with six runs in the eighth inning. The Mountain Hawks compiled six hits in the frame, highlighted by Quinn McKenna's bases-clearing three-run single which got past the left fielder and allowed two extra runs to score. Chris Butera, Matt Hand and Jeff Shanfeldt also recorded RBI singles in the inning.

McKenna paced the Lehigh offense on day with a season-high three hits and three RBIs in a 3-for-3 performance. Tim DiLoreto also got involved in the hit parade in the eighth inning with an infield single for his first-career hit.

Shanfeldt also had strong day at the dish as he finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and a RBI. The junior catcher extends his hit streak to five games and is 5-for-9 in his last two games.

Delaware's Joey Haass earned the win, his first of the season, as he tossed 5.0 innings. Haass surrendered just one run on three hits with one walk and did not record a strikeout.

Cole McManimon made his first start of the season and suffered the loss as he threw 1.2 innings. The big righty did not surrender an earned run as he gave up just one hit and compiled two strikeouts with just one walk.

Lehigh will return to action on Saturday as they began a three-game Patriot League set Navy.
