Lehigh Women Sweep Weekend with Victory Over Siena

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Mountain Hawks closed out their eight-match home stand with a 7-0 victory Sunday over Siena. Lehigh improves to 5-3 on the season, while the Saints fall to 7-4.
Lehigh began the match by sweeping the doubles matches. Christina Auyeung and Casey Zhong got back on track as they are 5-3 this season with all matches played at the first flight. Sibel Can and Grace Lin snapped a two-match skid and are now 4-4 this season at the second flight. Kirstin Godau and Leigh Friedman ended their three-match losing streak with a convincing 6-3 victory at the third flight.
Paula Gonzalez and Can scored straight-set victories in their singles matches. Gonzalez went 2-0 on the weekend and is now 5-3 overall this season. Can split her weekend matches and also improves to 5-3.
Auyeung and Lin each pulled out victories in the third set of their singles matches. Auyeung swept her matches on the weekend as she improves to 6-2 on the season with a three-match win streak. Lin also compiled a 2-0 record on the weekend as she improves to 4-4 with a three-match win streak.
Zhong scored an 8-4 victory at the fifth flight to improve her record to 4-4, while Briana Maravich also went undefeated on the weekend as she improves to 4-4 on the season after winning her last three matches.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action when they head to California for their spring break trip. Lehigh will face Azusa Pacific Monday, March 14, followed by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on March 14.
