LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team delivered its best round of the weekend in the final round of the Patriot League Championship, shooting even par 280 on Sunday to move from seventh to fifth place in the final standings. Freshman Ryan Kelly shot two under par 68 in the final round at the Bucknell Golf Club to move into a tie for fifth place, earning first team All-Patriot League honors and the league's Rookie of the Year award.

As a team the Mountain Hawks finished the 54-hole tournament at 859 (293-286-280), four strokes behind fourth place Navy. Lehigh's final round 280 was also the low team round of the day. Loyola bested defending champion Army West Point by five strokes to win its third title in the last four seasons. The Greyhounds' winning score was five under par 835 (280-274-281).

Kelly becomes just the second Patriot League Rookie of the Year from Lehigh and the first since Steve Suarez shared the award in 2007. His final round 68 included four birdies, including three on the back nine. Kelly finished the tournament at one over par 211 (74-69-68).

Sophomore Johnny Hsu and freshman Owen Quinn tied for 15th place at four over par 214. Hsu recorded just the fourth hole-in-one in Patriot League Championship history, acing the 16th hole on the way to a final round 71. Hsu's ace was the first since Alex DiClemente recorded one in a head-to-head stroke play match with Lafayette in 2014. Hsu shot rounds of 72 and 71 on Saturday.

Quinn closed out his tournament with the low round for a Lehigh player on the weekend, carding three birdies and no bogeys or worse on the way to a three under par 67. He shot 71 and 76 in Saturday's first two rounds.

Sophomore Eamon Marone tied for 31st place at 223 (76-73-74), while junior Billy Johns finished at 225 (76-73-76) to take 38th place.

The sixth Mountain Hawk in the field was sophomore Lee Hammerschmidt, who shot 235 (80, 76, 79) to finish in 44th place.

Army's Peter Kim was the individual champion at 10 under par 200 (68-63-69). He posted a four stroke victory over Bucknell's JP Raftery.

With no seniors on its roster, Lehigh returns its entire team for the 2017-18 season.
