BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Winners of seven of its last eight games, the Lehigh women's lacrosse team will return home on Saturday to host first-place Loyola in a big Patriot League matchup. Opening draw is set for 1 p.m. at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The Mountain Hawks will face a Greyhounds' team that has won 36 straight games since joining the league in 2014. Lehigh was the closest team to beating the Greyhounds, taking them to overtime last season.

With a win and losses by both Holy Cross and Colgate on Saturday, the Mountain Hawks would clinch a Patriot League Tournament berth for the fourth straight season.

Lehigh enters Saturday's game coming off back-to-back wins, including most recently at Army West Point, 15-8. Lehigh and Army battled back-and-forth in the first half, trading leads early on before the Mountain Hawks took a 5-3 advantage into halftime. After each team scored a goal early in the second half, Lehigh went on a 7-0 run to break open the game and build a nine-goal lead, which was ultimately insurmountable for the Black Knights.

Senior Allison LaBeau (five goals, one assist) and sophomore Courtney Henig (one goal, five assists) led the offense against the Black Knights with six points apiece. Henig's five assists and six points marked career highs. Four other players totaled two goals, including freshman Autumn Ryan, who tallied the second multi-goal game of her career. Senior Julianne D'Orazio had two goals, one assist, five groundballs, a draw control and caused turnover. It marked D'Orazio's sixth straight multi-goal game.

As a defense, the Mountain Hawks caused 19 turnovers at Army, which was tied for a season high. Nine different players caused a turnover, including three from sophomore defender Mary Ellen Carron, a career high. Senior goalkeeper Taylor Tvedt recorded eight saves and has now recorded at least that many in 10-of-12 games this year. She also had six groundballs and two caused turnovers, which helped her garner her first-career Patriot League weekly award, garnering Defender of the Week.

This year, LaBeau leads the team in points with 27 goals, 28 assists and 55 points, while Henig is second with 13 goals and 18 assists. D'Orazio leads the team in groundballs with 38 and caused turnovers with 24. Tvedt owns a .484 save percentage and 9.84 goals against average.

Loyola owns a 6-7 overall record, but stands 5-0 record in the league. The team has fought through an intense nonleague schedule, including games against five nationally-ranked teams. Sophomore attacker Hannah Powers leads the Greyhounds in points right now, racking up 29 goals and 21 assists. Senior attacker Cami Whiteford has a team-high 35 goals, adding 11 assists. Senior defender Amy Abdalla leads Loyola with 15 caused turnovers, contributing 20 groundballs as well. Sophomore goalie Kady Glynn has seen the majority of time thus far, starting 11 games with a .458 save percentage and a 12.10 goals against average.

The Greyhounds are 9-5 all-time against Lehigh, winning all four matchups since they joined the Patriot League. Lehigh hasn't defeated Loyola since 1988, an 11-5 win. Last season, Loyola won two meetings in Baltimore, 13-12 in overtime (regular season) and 13-8 (Patriot League Semifinals). Even in the semifinal matchup, the Mountain Hawks were within 10-8 with less than three minutes remaining before the Greyhounds pulled away.

After Saturday's game, Lehigh will head to rival Lafayette in a midweek game on Wednesday, Apr. 19. The game will start at 7 p.m. in Easton.
