Lehigh Men Suffer Defeat in Tough Road Contest at Army West Point

WEST POINT, N.Y. ā The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team surrendered a 182-100 victory on the road to Patriot League foe Army West Point on Friday evening. The Mountain Hawks totaled two individual victories, both in the pool and on the board, to go along with one relay win against the Black Knights.
Jacob Moyar claimed the Lehigh men's lone individual win of the evening in the pool as he placed first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:51.19. His time is the fastest by a Lehigh swimmer so far this season. Moyar also led Lehigh in the 500 freestyle with a third place finish at a time of 4:39.18.
The Lehigh men also picked up a victory in the 800 freestyle relay as Walker Wilson, Moyar, Daniel Brooks and Justin White combined for a winning time of 6:53.41.
On the board, Croldy Veliz picked up the win in the three meter with a score of 195.82. Veliz placed second in the one meter with a season-best score of 221.92.
Wilson, Tyler Christ, Moyar and White finished as Lehigh's top group in the 400 medley relay with a second place finish at a time of 3:26.05.
Nico Lastauskas paced Lehigh in the 1000 freestyle with a third place finish at a time of 9:47.80.
White led the Mountain Hawks in the 200 freestyle as he placed third at a pace of 1:43.23. He also led Lehigh in the 50 freestyle with a second place finish at a time of 21.32.
Wilson took home a second place finish in the 100 backstroke to lead Lehigh and posted a time of 52.71.
Christ posted Lehigh's top time in the 100 breaststroke with a mark of 59.12 to place third.
Zach Tieke finished as Lehigh's top performer in the 100 freestyle with a second place finish at a time of 45.93.
Justin Kostelnik picked up the win in the 200 IM as he posted a time of 1:58.10.
The Mountain Hawks return to action on Sunday with a nonconference dual meet with NJIT beginning at 1 p.m. NJIT will be providing a live video stream for the event.Ā
