BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team will host Villanova Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. when the Mountain Hawks take to the newly renovated outdoor Ulrich Varsity Courts for the first time this spring. The match against the Wildcats will also serve as Lehigh's final tune-up before Patriot League play begins on March 20.

Lehigh will look to extend its six-game winning streak and move to 9-1 on the year with a win over the Wildcats. The Mountain Hawks are coming off a strong weekend in which they defeated Saint Joseph's and Rider. On Saturday, junior Ethan Bogard, sophomore Jack Petersen and freshman George Cooper each won their doubles and singles matches. Senior Jeremy Kochman clinched the match at the top flight of singles to help Lehigh to a 5-2 victory over Saint Joseph's. The Mountain Hawks cruised to a 7-0 sweep of Rider on Sunday, winning every singles and doubles match along the way.

Petersen has led Lehigh in singles play so far this season with a perfect 7-0 mark, while Bogard is 5-0. Kochman has picked up three victories at the top flight of singles and six wins at No. 1 doubles.

Villanova enters Wednesday's match with a record of 4-6. The Wildcats are fresh off a California road trip in which they went 1-3 with their lone win coming against Concordia. Villanova was led by No. 1 singles player Chris Seitz and No. 4 singles Jimmy Purdy. The Wildcats have also earned wins over Delaware (6-1), Colgate (3-2) and Fordham (4-1) this season.

The Mountain Hawks squeaked past Villanova last spring with a 4-3 win at the Lewis Tennis Center. Lehigh won the doubles point and split the singles matches to earn the victory. Petersen and current junior Tyler Hansen earned singles wins against the Wildcats.

Following Wednesday's match, Lehigh will have an 11-day layoff from match action to prepare for its Patriot League opener on March 20 against Loyola.
