Mountain Hawks grab 7-0 win over Rider

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team cruised to a 7-0 sweep of Rider Sunday afternoon inside the Lewis Tennis Center. The Mountain Hawks earn their sixth-straight win and move to 8-1 on the season, while Rider falls to 0-2.
Sophomore Dylan Karchere-Sun and junior Colin Nardella began the afternoon with a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles before seniors Jeremy Kochman and Ricardo Prince picked up a 6-2 victory at the top flight to secure the doubles point. Freshman George Cooper and junior Ethan Bogard completed the doubles sweep with a 6-3 win at the second flight.
Cooper opened singles play by cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Brandon Gildea at the fourth flight. Kochman followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles before a 6-3, 6-1 win from freshman Bryant Born at No. 2 singles clinched the match for the Mountain Hawks.
Sophomore Jack Petersen continued Lehigh's dominance with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. Junior Tyler Hansen grabbed a 6-0, 6-0 win at the fifth flight before Bogard completed the sweep with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.
The Mountain Hawks return to action at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday against Villanova. With the weather forecast for Wednesday, Lehigh is slated to make its spring debut on the newly-renovated outdoor Ulrich Varsity Courts.
