BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh baseball team will hit the road for the first time in seven games Tuesday when the Mountain Hawks travel to Rider for a non-league contest at Sonny Pittaro Field. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.

Lehigh will be looking to ride the momentum from a Sunday doubleheader sweep of Navy. A game-winning two-run home run from sophomore Patrick Donnelly backed a complete-game effort from senior starting pitcher Nick Stephens to help Lehigh to a 3-2 win in Sunday's opener before junior reliever Kevin Boswick fired 7.2 scoreless innings in the nightcap to help the Mountain Hawks to a 5-4 victory. Lehigh and Navy split the four-game series and the Mountain Hawks are now in prime position for a Patriot League Tournament berth. One win this weekend against Lafayette, or one loss by both Army and Bucknell, would clinch Lehigh's second-straight postseason appearance.

Junior Mike Garzillo leads Lehigh offensively with a .371 batting average, 35 RBI and six home runs. Garzillo's slugging percentage of .601 leads the Patriot League. Senior Justin Pacchioli follows with a .346 mark and a league-leading .500 on-base percentage and 20 stolen bases. Donnelly and fellow sophomore Jacen Nalesnik are tied for second on the team with 22 RBI.

Rider is 15-17 overall and has won 11 of its last 14 games. The Broncs dropped a 2-1 series to Marist over the weekend but had won seven-straight games prior to losing the final two games of the series.

The Broncs are hitting .225 as a team compared to their opponents' average of .284. Justin Thomas leads the team with a .323 batting average, but is the only Rider player hitting over .300. The next highest mark is Eric Strano's .259 average. Greg Fazio leads the team with 21 RBI while Nick Richter has crossed the plate a team-best 21 times.

Lehigh and Rider met in the first round of the Liberty Bell Classic on March 24 at La Salle. The Broncs came out on top 9-4 and then went on to beat La Salle and Villanova to earn the Liberty Bell Classic title. Rider scored eight runs in the final three innings of March's meeting to capture the 9-4 win. Freshman starter Peter Moore allowed just one hit while striking out eight batters through five innings while Garzillo led Lehigh offensively with a 2-for-3 showing at the plate.

Following Tuesday's game, Lehigh will head to archrival Lafayette for the final regular-season Patriot League series this weekend. Doubleheaders will be played both Saturday and Sunday with first pitches slated for noon.
