BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Having clinched its second straight Patriot League Tournament appearance, the Lehigh women's lacrosse team will look to gain momentum heading into the Patriot League Tournament as the Mountain Hawks travel to Holy Cross on Friday. Opening draw is set for 5 p.m. With a win, Lehigh would enter the league tournament as the #5 seed while a loss would put the Mountain Hawks as the sixth seed heading into Tuesday's Patriot League Quarterfinals.

As the #5 seed, Lehigh would travel to #4 Boston University on Tuesday in a rematch of last year's Patriot League Quarterfinal matchup. As the #6 seed, the Mountain Hawks would travel to either Colgate or Navy, whoever ends up as the #3 seed (depending on the results of Friday's games).

The Mountain Hawks sport a 6-2 road record on the season. Lehigh is coming off an impressive 16-6 win at American on Sunday, which earned them their fifth straight road victory and officially clinched a Patriot League Tournament berth. That improved Lehigh's record to 8-7 and 3-4 in league play. The Mountain Hawks have now scored 15 or more goals in three of their last five road contests.

Lehigh was aided by two upperclassmen who found great success in the offensive zone. Senior Carli Sukonik and junior Kendall Garden chipped in four and three goals respectively. Sophomore Allison LaBeau contributed four goals and two assists to lead the way. All three have shined this season as Sukonik leads the team with 37 goals and is second on the squad with 41 points. LaBeau trails by four goals with 33 and leads the team in assists with 13 to produce a team-leading 46 points. Garden rounds out the top three scorers with 22 goals and nine assists while leading the team (or standing among the leaders) in groundballs (27), caused turnovers (28) and draw controls (20).

Holy Cross stands at 4-12 on the season, but owns an identical 3-4 record within Patriot League competition. The Crusaders are coming off two consecutive losses, against Navy and Harvard. Senior midfielder Laura Ryan has put up some strong numbers this year, starting every one of Holy Cross' 16 games and scoring a team-high 35 goals. Ryan's 35 goals are 15 more than the next leading scorer on the team, Kaitlin Concilio who has 20 goals and 18 assists. Six others own double-figure points as well. Ryan also leads the team in draw controls (47) and caused turnovers (26) while tying for the team lead with 33 groundballs. Katie Boyle has started all 16 games in goal and owns a 10.14 GAA and .367 save percentage.

Lehigh is 14-10 all-time against Holy Cross, but has lost three straight. The last Mountain Hawks' victory came in 2011 by a 15-4 final.

Following Friday's matchup against Holy Cross, the Mountain Hawks will have just three days to prepare for the Patriot League Tournament Quarterfinals which is set for Tuesday, April 21.
