BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Lehigh baseball team heads to Port Charlotte, Fla. this weekend to begin a six-day spring break trip at the Snowbird Classic. The Mountain Hawks will play eight games during the trip and face Saint Joseph's, St. Bonaventure, Georgetown, Seton Hall and Western Michigan. Â Lehigh opens action Sunday at 2 p.m. against Saint Joseph's before facing St. Bonaventure at 5 p.m.
Â
The Mountain Hawks carry a 2-2 record into the trip. Lehigh spent its opening weekend playing Iona in South Carolina and bounced back from a pair of tough Friday losses to sweep a doubleheader against the Gaels Saturday. Senior Nick Macaione and junior Kevin Boswick combined to hurl an 11-inning no-hitter to highlight the weekend as Lehigh earned 2-0 and 7-4 wins over Iona.
Â
Senior Justin Pacchioli led Lehigh offensively on opening weekend, going 7-for-16 at the plate with five runs scored, three extra-base hits, three walks, three RBI and two stolen bases. Pacchioli also hit the walk-off, two-run homerun in the 11th inning of Lehigh's 2-0 win over Iona to secure the Mountain Hawks' first no-no since 2010 and fourth since 1960. Junior Mike Garzillo went 7-for-18 at the plate with three RBI, while sophomore Jacen Nalesnik drove in a team-best four runs and had a 6-for-16 showing at the dish.
Â
