BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's lacrosse team looks to snap a three-game losing streak when it travels to Lafayette to face the archrival Leopards on Wednesday night. Opening draw is set for 7:30 p.m. The Mountain Hawks have won seven of their last eight games against Lafayette. Wednesday's game will be played at Fisher Stadium on Lafayette's main campus.

Lehigh enjoyed a strong first half against Colgate Saturday, leading 4-2 after 30 minutes of play. However, the Raiders exploded for 11 second-half goals to hand the Mountain Hawks their second straight 13-7 defeat. Senior Carli Sukonik led the offense with four of Lehigh's seven goals while sophomore Allison LaBeau tallied two goals and one assist; freshman Haley Wentzel scored the Mountain Hawks' other goal.

Senior Kelly Scott and junior Kendall Garden tied for the team lead with two caused turnovers apiece. Sophomore Lauren Beausoleil had a team-high three draw controls. For the season, LaBeau owns a team-leading 18 points (11 goals, team-high seven assists) while Sukonik leads the way with 15 goals. Freshman Kierstyn Voiro leads the team in groundballs with 15, Beausoleil has a team-high 19 draw controls and Garden owns 15 caused turnovers, most on the Mountain Hawks.

Lafayette has struggled in the early going this season, owning a 1-7 record with its lone win coming over UC Davis by a 14-12 final. The Leopards are 0-2 in Patriot League play with losses to the preseason top two teams in Loyola and Navy. Kirsten Wilhelmsen by far and away leads the team in scoring with 22 points (19 goals, three assists) while Charlotte Rath (nine goals) and Amanda Case (eight goals, one assist) each have nine points. Wilhelmsen also leads the team in draw controls (20) and is third in caused turnovers (5) and groundballs (10). Anna Raymond has started all eight games in goal, owning a 14.89 GAA and .314 save percentage.

Lehigh leads the all-time series with Lafayette, 24-21 following a thrilling 9-8 win last season behind 14 saves from Alexandra Fitzpatrick. The sides first met in 1975, a 5-1 Lehigh win. Lehigh went on to win 13 of the first 17 before the Leopards came back with seven straight victories and 11-of-12 in the early 1990s.

The Mountain Hawks will return home on Saturday when they host Loyola at 4 p.m. Additional changes to the following week's schedule sees Lehigh traveling to Bucknell on Tuesday (Mar. 24) before heading to Mount St. Mary's on Thursday (Mar. 26) with the originally-scheduled game at Bryant back on the schedule for Saturday (Mar. 28).
