BETHLEHEM, Pa.—The Lehigh women's tennis team will look to build on its 2-2 home record this weekend when the Mountain Hawks host Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday and Stony Brook on Sunday at the Lewis Tennis Center.
The Mountain Hawks are coming off a tight 4-3 victory over Saint Francis (Pa.) last weekend. Lehigh swept all three doubles matches and was aided by freshmen Christina Auyeung, Briana Maravich and Kirstin Godau, who all emerged victorious in singles play, with Godau delivering the decisive victory at No. 6 singles to seal the win for the Mountain Hawks.
Maravich has led the way in for the Mountain Hawks with an unblemished 4-0 singles record. Auyeung won both her singles matches last weekend after missing the opening weekend of competition. Sophomore Jamie Campisi leads the team in doubles play with a 3-1 record.
Lehigh enters this weekend at 2-2 with its other win coming at home against Niagara on January 31. The Mountain Hawks' losses came in their season opener against Delaware on Jan. 28 and against Drexel on Feb. 7.
Fairleigh Dickinson enters Saturday's match at 0-2 with losses to Rutgers and Binghamton.
Stony Brook will be no easy task on Sunday. On the season, the Seawolves have posted a 2-0 record, with wins against Connecticut and Army last weekend. Stony Brook has been led by doubles tandem Adey Osabuohien and Elizabeth Tsvetkov, who were ranked the 54th by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association last month.
The Mountain Hawks will look to avenge 7-0 defeats to both schools last season.
Following this weekend's action, Lehigh will have one home match in each of the next two weekends, before heading to Florida for spring break.
Both of this weekend's matches versus Farleigh Dickinson and Stony Brook will begin at 10 a.m. from the Lewis Tennis Center.
