Allinson's 73 paces Mountain Hawks on day one of Navy Spring Invite

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – An opening round two over par 73 from junior Zach Allinson paced the shorthanded Lehigh men's golf team on day one of the Navy Spring Invitational Friday at the Naval Academy Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks only have four players competing so all four's scores count towards the team total, which on day one was 310, good for 14th place in the 18 team field.
Allinson's 73 puts him in a tie for ninth place after one round. Junior Carlos Kim posted Lehigh's next lowest score, carding a 75, to tie for 17th place.
Two strokes behind Kim was sophomore Harley Abrams, who sits in a tie for 36th with his 77, while sophomore Johnny Heydt shot 85 on Friday and is tied for 86th place.
TJ McNulty of Saint Joseph's fired a four under par 67 to take the 18-hole lead by three strokes over a trio of players.
Saint Francis (Pa.) and Towson are tied for the team lead at 12 over par 296, five strokes better than third place Navy.
The Navy spring invitational concludes Saturday with the final 18 holes beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the Naval Academy Golf Club.
