Lehigh men's golf holds 36 hole lead at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Powered by a second-round 70 from junior Andrew Arnold, the Lehigh men's golf team sits in first place after 36 holes at the Bucknell Invitational, which opened up Friday at the Bucknell Golf Course. Arnold opened with a 74 and sits in a tie for third place at 144, four shots behind the leader. As a team the Mountain Hawks shot 591 (294-297) and hold a four shot lead over the host Bison heading into Saturday's final round.
Lehigh sat in second place after 18 holes, three shots behind Canisius. Senior Sean Keller and freshman Harley Abrams fired opening rounds of 73 to pace the Mountain Hawks.
After 36 holes four Mountain Hawks are in the top ten individually. Abrams is four shots behind Arnold at 148 (73-75) as he sits in eighth place. Sophomore Carlos Kim is in ninth at 149 (74-75), while Keller is tied for tenth at 150 (73-77). Junior Alex DiClemente shot rounds of 81 and 79 and is tied for 29th after day one.
Two other Mountain Hawks played as individuals in the 44-player field. Freshman Jonathan Heydt shot 151 (76-75) to tie for 13th place while sophomore Zach Allinson shot 153 (78-75) and is tied for 17th.
Lehigh leads the eight team field by four shots over Bucknell, which shot 595 (296-299), while Laval University from Canada is in third place, one shot behind the Bison.
Individually, Bucknell has the top two players on the leaderboard in Dan Bernard (69-71=140) and Schuyler Stitzer (70-71=141). Arnold is tied with Gabriel Mocquard of Laval for third.
The Bucknell Invitational concludes Saturday with the final 18 holes from the Bucknell Golf Course.
