BETHLEHEM, PA. - Senior captain Will Rackley has been named to the Sports Network’s Preseason All-America Second-Team, it was announced on Monday. This marks the third preseason accolade for the two-time first team All-League selection. Last month, Rackley was named to Lindy’s All-FCS Offensive First Team and in May, the Sports Network named the Georgia native one of the top ten offensive linemen in the Football Championship Subdivision.
A two-time first-team All-Patriot League selection, Rackley is thought to be one of the top tackles in the nation. The 6-4, 310-pound lineman was selected to the Preseason All-America third team last year, and followed up with a strong season in the trenches for the Brown and White. Rackley started all 11 games for the Mountain Hawks, and earned third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press in December.
The second-team offense consists of student-athletes from Stephen F. Austin, William & Mary, Appalachian State, Southern Illinois, Lafayette, Southeastern Louisiana, Gardner-Webb, Weber State, Montana, Portland State, and Austin Peay. A total of five Patriot League student-athletes earned a spot on one of the three Sports Network Preseason All-America teams
Lehigh opens its 2010 season on Saturday, September 4, when the Mountain Hawks travel to Des Moines, Iowa to take on the Drake Bulldogs. Kick-off is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).
