Mountain Hawks open busy weekend in N.J.

PRINCETON, N.J. – Lehigh sent a select group of athletes to New Jersey on Friday to compete versus a tough field of competitors at the Larry Eliis Invitational. Senior Sarah Serwo placed seventh in the 800 with a time of 2:10.82, with Jen Therkorn crossing in 2:13.02, good for 13th place. In the 5000, Katherine Pierce finished in 12th place as she finished in 17:36.76, while Kaitlin Grimm placed 23rd with a time of 18:02.13
Other women that competed were Shannon Alejandro who finished in 27th in the 1500-meters with a time of 4:42.02, and Dana Stellar (28) and Nicole Page (29) who competed in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
In men’s action Jordan Inacio finished the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 9:35.86, and Evans Kosgei (26) and William Kearns (27) both competed in the 5000, with times of 14;49.5 and 14:49.9, respectively. Dan DeWitt also ran in the 5000 and finished 38th.
Lehigh will resume action on Saturday at the Moravian Greyhound Invitational in Bethlehem, beginning at 10:00 AM.
