Lehigh earns two top five finishes on day one

Schuck finished in the top three in all four events on the afternoon on Friday, winning the long jump portion with a jump of 23’ 1/2.” Schuck finished second in both the shot put and the high jump portions, and came away with a third place finish in 60 meters. With just three events remaining, Schuck maintains a 67-point lead over Ryan White from Bucknell.
In the only completed event of the Championships, Bigelow came away with a fourth place finish and McLaughlin walked away with fifth in the pentathlon. Bigelow earned a second place finish in the high jump and a third place mark in the 800, as she posted a score of 3,166 points. McLaughlin ran the best race of her life in the 800 as she finished second to jump from eighth place to fifth in the final event of the competition. Both athletes posted personal bests in the shot put as well.
The men’s heptathlon continues on Saturday at 8:45 a.m., followed by field events at 10:30 a.m. and track events at 1 p.m.
