Lehigh picked to finish fourth in preseason poll

Bethlehem, PA – The preseason polls for the men’s and women’s tennis teams have been released by the Patriot League, and the Mountain Hawks have been picked to finish fourth in the women’s side and fifth in men’s. Army was tabbed as the favorite to win the Patriot League for the women, and American was selected the top choice for the men.
On the women’s side, Lehigh is looking to improve upon an 11-7 record from last season. Co-captains Rachel Samson and Kristen Nowicki lead the team, and they both won their singles matches in last weekend’s match with
For the men, American was tabbed to win their third straight Patriot League crown with a total of 72 points and 12 first place votes. Colgate received the only two other votes at the top. Lehigh finished fifth with 27 points, and the team is already off to a 1-0 start after defeating
Both teams are in action this weekend, as they play host to Howard and Stony Brook – the men on Saturday and the women on Sunday.
