Lehigh tames Wildcats 5-2

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh earned its ninth win of the 2003 season Wednesday, defeating Villanova 5-2. Lehigh improves to 9-4 with the win, while the Wildcats fall to 3-8. The Mountain Hawks swept doubles action as Kristen Nowicki/Kristen Mulstay, Jamie Fass/Andrea Scott, and Maria Anorga/Alina Kors all earned victories. On the singles side, Lehigh won all but two matches. At first singles Nowicki moved to 12-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Courtney Flezzani. Also earning wins on the singles side was Anorga, Mulstay, and Kors. "Villanova played very well today," said head coach Dave Shook. "We moved indoors to finish the match when the rain came; however, Villanova adjusted well and gave us a good run." Lehigh will return to action on Wednesday at home, vs. Lafayette. Match time is 3:00 p.m.
